San Francisco locals and visitors
alike flock to the the Dickens Christmas Fair during December every
year, just to get in the mood for Christmas.
Carolers, real Toy
Soldiers, and dozens of people dressed in period costumes mingle with
other, come as you are folks, at the Cow Palace where several large
rooms and stages are set up for the event.
Vendors selling
traditional fish and chips, others making candy, and still others
creating everything from art, to woven vests, to pipe making, all
with period decorations make you feel as if you stepped back in time
to another era.
You might see Scrooge, the ghost of Christmas past,
chimney sweeps ( remember to shake hands or blow them a kiss for
luck). And of course there is Santa.
We had a great visit to the
fair, mesmerized by the sights, sounds, and the smells of food in
abundance.

If you ever have a chance to go, don't miss it. It runs every Saturday and Sunday during December.
